Okay, enough of all the shallow stuff already. Time for something really deep. Ha.
The "Meaning of Life" is one of the most discussed topic by philosophers, religious figures and laymen alike.
Personally, as an agnostic atheist, i don't think the purpose of anybody's life is to get closer to God or anything like that. I feel that the meaning (and purpose) of life should be directly related to ourselves, which is:
To aim to produce the maximum amount of pleasure(or to minimise suffering) in the given situations.
Every deliberate action resulting from rational thinking is about making ourselves contented, or less unsatisfied. Quite sure there is no exception to this.
And if being contented is indeed what we aim for in all of our actions, shouldn't working hard to be contented be purpose of our lives? After, our whole life is about making decisions and then execute what we have in mind.
I mean, why go on to talk about the continuence of the human race, or achieving some state of mind through the love of a deity, or rebirths and karmas, when it is apparent that ultimately, we do those things for our own contentment?
Ok Ok so all in all, the meaning of life, in my humble opinion, is to be as contented as possible, making full use of your environment. And because it is instinctive to do what makes us most happy when we are being rational, there is actually no need for any deliberate attempt to achieve/fulfill this purpose.
Btw, beautiful MV:
